DENR Central and DENR IX, X, XII Regional Offices have begun turning over to the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy – BARMM their protected areas, documents, maps, and other materials and assets covering the City of Cotabato and the 63 Barangays of North Cotabato province.

Secretary of Interior and Local Government (SILG) Eduardo Año told the press Tuesday that Cotabato City is now officially under the supervision of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

BANGSAMORO GOVERNMENT CENTER – A year after the ratification of the Bangsamoro Organic Law or the BOL, Cotabato City and the 63 barangays that voted YES to inclusion in the BARMM during the 2019 plebiscite, have been officially turned over to the Bangsamoro Regional Government on December 15, 2020.
Chanting “Allahu Akbar” (God is Great), a number of motor riders from Cotabato City passed through the city’s major streets early morning today to show their support to the city’s turnover to Bangsamoro Government.
