BARMM hoists flag for the first time: an emblem of true autonomy
Symbolic raising of the Bangsamoro flag took place Monday, Jan. 18, at the Bangsamoro Government Center in Cotabato City to officially start the week-long celebration of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s (BARMM) founding anniversary.
“Here we are – hoisting the Bangsamoro Flag next to the Philippine Flag for the first time ever,” Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim said.
“We can now proudly stay that we have achieved genuine autonomy that encapsulates the long history of the Bangsamoro people – our sacrifices and our shared vision for the next generation,” Ebrahim added.
Also part of Monday’s ceremony were the symbolic turnover of school armchairs led by Education Minister Mohager Iqbal, distribution of relief goods and wheelchairs led by Executive Secretary and Environment Minister Abdulraof Macacua, launching of regional disaster vehicles and equipment led by MILG Minister Naguib Sinarimbo, turnover of DOHXII-Center for Health Development-12 to the Ministry of Health led by Minister Dr Ameril Usman, and distribution of agricultural equipment led by MAFAR Minister Dr. Mohammad Yacob.
