Tabang for Vulnerable Sectors: A Covid-19 Response Project in Aid of Legislation delivers its services on wheels to give food aid to at-risk individuals in the community.

The Office of MP Maisara Dandamun-Latiph responding to the messages sent by the netizens in the Office’s FB Page who are classified at-risk of getting hungry due to the crisis brought about by the Covid19 pandemic delivered its food aid consisting of 5kg of rice, loaf of bread, peanut butter spread, sugar, coffee and cooking oil to 150 beneficiaries.

This one of a kind operation of the Office was conducted on May 14, 2020, and goods were delivered to different barangays in MSU, and Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur. Some of the identified beneficiaries were widow, single-parent, Asatidz, employees with low-income and persons working under condition of “no work, no pay” and senior citizen.

In view of the travel restrictions, it took time to deliver the goods to the beneficiaries. But with the dynamic staff and their implementing partners on the ground who volunteered to help get access quickly to the targeted beneficiaries, the project went smoothly and finished timely.

The Office of MP Maisara C. Dandamun-Latiph successfully distributed 150 food packs and among the recipients are the 34 stranded employees of MSU-Ayala Resort Hotel who did not receive any form of assistance, recipients from different areas of MSU Campus particularly in Brgy. Rapasun, Commercial Center, Brgy. Dimalna, 5th Street, Brgy. Cabingan, Puyos and Lumidong, and recipients from different barangays in Marawi City specifically in Basak Malutlut, Kyrstal Saduc, Pangao Saduc, Lilod Saduc, Saduc Proper, Mutilan Street, Mapandi, Patani, Tampilong, Kilala, Bangon, Datu-Saber, Tuca, Matampay, Old Capitol, Amaipakpak, Emi Shelters, Bito Buadi Itowa, Bubonga, Bakwit Village, Sagonsongan Shelters, Pawak Saguiaran, and Mipaga.

The beneficiaries were grateful that a simple wish came to reality when they received their relief goods. The said office is inspired to serve the vulnerable sectors from different areas in Lanao del Sur and aims to reach out to more beneficiaries in future programs. The office sends its appreciation and gratitude to the volunteers and implementing partners who always there to support and carry out the good mission and vision for the Bangsamoro People.
