Three resolutions were adopted by the Committee on Trade, Investment, and Tourism this morning, February 16, chaired by Dr. Marjanie Macasalong.
Among the measures adopted were resolutions urging the Government of the Day, through the Ministry of Finance, to establish an Islamic recovery fund for micro, small, and medium enterprises and a resolution urging the MTIT to hold an annual halal trade and tourism expo in the region.
The Committee also approved a resolution calling for the implementation of Section 24, Article XIII of the Bangsamoro Organic Law on enacting the Bangsamoro Cooperative Code.
The BOL states that the Bangsamoro government shall adopt and implement cooperative development policies and programs through the enactment of a Bangsamoro Cooperative Code.
The Committee, on the other hand, recommended that the proposed measures on the Bangsamoro Cooperative and Social Enterprise Code and the bill ordaining the promotion of social enterprises in the region be subjected to consultation to gather comments and input from the public.
