March 24, 2022 | The Committee on Trade, Investment, and Tourism (CTIT) convened today to conduct its committee meeting for the calendar year of 2022, held at the BTA Parliament Executive Lounge and via Zoom Teleconference.
Present are MP Marjanie S. Macasalong, MP Amilbahar S. Mawallil, MP Atty. Maisara C. Dandamun – Latiph, MP Ziaur-Rahman Alonto Adiong, MP Baintan A. Ampatuan, and other members of the committee.
The meeting highlights the discussion of the Deliberation of the Proposed Resolutions; PR No. 638, PR No. 640, and other matters.
This morning, March 24, the Committee on Trade, Investment, and Tourism deliberated two bills at the committee stage and adopted two resolutions.
They ratified PR No. 638 and expressed their support for the “Choose Bangsamoro” branding initiative launched by the Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism and encouraged all government agencies to foster and seek out products and services offered by the program.
In addition, PR No. 640, a resolution – was adopted, requesting that the Mindanao Development Authority mainstream and ensure BARMM participation in Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines-East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) programs.
Furthermore, the Committee made a recommendation to hold public consultations to gather suggestions and legislative insights on the proposed measures regarding institutionalizing the barter trade, the creation of a barter center in the region, and establishing the Seaweeds Development Authority.
