OCTOBER 23, 2021| Youth from Pagayawan, Madamba, Lumbayangue at Lumbaca Unayan Lanao del Sur, participated in the 1st Ranaw Youth Awareness Resiliency Summit conducted by the office of MP Atty. Maisara C. Dandamun-Latiph in partnership with 103rd Infantry Haribon Brigade, LDS-Police Provincial Office, 12CMO Kapatiran Battalion, 51st Infantry, Fuerte Uno Battalion, and 5th Infantry Duty Bound Battalion.
The participants of the said program are youth affected by the Municipal siege or armed conflict, youth returnees, relatives of returnees, youth affected by siege, and youth from remote Barangays.
Ranaw Youth Awareness Summit is designed to give awareness to the youth especially to those affected areas of terrorism through inculcating them the topics to be delivered by the invited peace advocate lecturers. Part of the discussion at the summit is the lecture on the Bangsamoro Struggle, Bangsamoro Parliamentary Government, PCVE or Foundation of Resiliency, R.A 9165-Drug Addiction, Criminality & Prevention, the Bangsamoro Political party, and a quick discussion on peace project grant.
After the lectures, the participants determine and create a project proposal that will be funded by MP Maisara with 20,000 pesos for their peace champion proposal serving the youth affected by the counter conflict.
The whole program is dedicated to helping the participants discover their strength as a leader, discover and develop their leadership style and allow them to maximize their leadership skills through a series of workshops focusing on needs analysis and problem-solving, preventing and countering violent extremism, and a whole lot more.
