Officials of the BTA and BARMM had a dinner meeting with UK Ambassador Laure Beaufils

On December 6, 2021, Member of Parliament Atty. Maisara C. Dandamun-Latiph together with other officials of the BTA and BARMM who are Chevening scholars had a dinner meeting with UK Ambassador Laure Beaufils.

MP Latiph gave a “Torogan” made as a remembrance of the heritage of Maranao people.

This Torogan is a miniature of a traditional house built by the Maranao people of Lanao, Mindanao, Philippines. A torogan was a symbol of high social status such a residence was once home to a Sultan or Datu in the Maranao community. Nowadays, concrete houses are found all over Maranaw communities, but there remain torogans a hundred years old.

The Mranaw Tourism Inc. sells the miniature Torogan.
