In observance of the World Hijab Day, and in support to the approval of House Bill 8249 also known as the “National Hijab Day” of the Philippines which declares the first day of February as National Hijab Day, the Office of MP Atty. Maisara C. Dandamun-Latiph is one with celebrating the World Hijab Day to give awareness, education and fight discrimination against Muslim women around the world with the theme: “Don’t let your Pride be your Prejudice” #EndHijabophobia.
Today, 150 gift packs of hijab/veil is given to women around the Lanao del Sur. The highlights of the Program “My Hijab, My Crown” is to spread awareness to the non-Muslims in Mindanao State University how Hijab is important and its significance to Muslim Women.
As MP Maisara’s stated, “This special day is an opportunity for every woman and girl to celebrate and recognize the importance the beauty of the hijab. I want to say to the world that wearing a hijab is a truly beautiful thing. It is not simply a piece of clothing, but more than that, it is a form of modesty, piety and a form of behavior.”
During the Program, Health safety protocols was strictly observed.
