“Social enterprises are deemed part of the road to regional autonomy and patrimony — this is an opportunity that could provide sustainable and important changes in our economy and poverty-reduction among disadvantaged sectors in the region, particularly in the period of recovery from COVID-19 and internal strife,” Atty. Maisara Latiph, the principal author of the proposed Parliament Bill No. 157, said.
The proposed measure seeks to provide a nurturing environment for the development and growth of strong, proactive, and innovative social enterprises in the region as significant vehicles for positive change. (LTAIS-Public Information, Publication, and Media Relations Division)
