People nowadays encounter difficulties in accessing health consultation, especially those in Rural Areas. One of the reasons includes the lack of financial support to travel and pay for doctors. Others are afraid to travel due to the increasing number of COVID-19 Cases in the region.
In response to the identified community problem, the Office of Member of Parliament Atty. Maisara Dandamun-Latiph initiated Medical Mission at Tugaya, Lanao del Sur. This was implemented by the Ministry of Health headed by Minister Dr. Bashary Latiph on February 21, 2021.
The medical mission has catered to almost 1000 recipients from different barangays in the Municipality Tugaya Lanao del Sur. Recipients belong to vulnerable people such as senior citizens, pregnant women, children, and other residents with health concerns/problems. Identified health cases catered include hypertension, Gastritis, Skin Diseases, and others.
The implementation of the said medical mission is clustered into two composing of 23 barangays. Cluster 1 was held at Subod Gymnasium while Cluster 2 was held in Pindolonan 2 Gymnasium.
The Cluster 1 is composed of 10 target barangays such as Pindolonan 1, Cayagan, Bagu a Ingud, Puthad, Maidan, Dilimbayan, Tangkal, Ingud Poblacion, Sumbag A Rogong, and Raya.
The Cluster 2 is composed of 13 target barangays such as Campong Talao, Buadidico, Buadi a Lawang, Gurain, Mapantao, Sugod Mawatan, Sugod 1, Dandamun, Pagalamatan, Pindolonan II, Lumbac, Bobong, and Pandia Ranao
“We hope to serve 1000 constituents for this medical mission so that health would be addressed including check-ups and provision of medicines. We hope that through this program, the Bangsamoro Government Services will be felt by the people”, said MP Atty. Maisara

“At this time of difficulties of pandemic, kailangan po talaga ng ating mga constituents yong mga ganitong services. We look forward sa maraming programs gaya ng mga ganitong services”, said Hayan Marandia of LGU Tugaya

The Office of MP Atty. Maisara would like to thank the Ministry of Health, LGU Tugaya headed by Hon. Municipal Mayor Alfatah Pacalna, Rural Health Unit of Tugaya Lanao del Sur, Barangay Health Workers, and other youth volunteers who were there to assist the implementation of the medical mission.
