June 3, 2022| Growing Seeds of Hope was implemented to the two torils in Marawi City.
Participants are Ustadhs and Morits in Toril Markaz Abul Qasim Litahfidhel Qur’an Al-Kareem and Darul Huda Litahfidhel Qur’anil Kareem.
In the morning, GSH was implemented at Darul Huda Litahfidhel Qur’anil Kareem located at Hafidah Compound, Papandayan Caniogan, Marawi City.
In the afternoon, GSH was implemented at Toril Markaz Abul Qasim Litahfidhel Qur’an Al-Kareem located at Mipaga, Marawi City.
This program aims to encourage the Ustadhs and Morits from different torils in Lanao del Sur to utilize their small and large land spaces for agricultural benefits. This will serve as support for the campaign of food security through a safe, sustainable, and climate-resilient agriculture;
The invited resource person was Amer Magarang MS.RED, the Station Superintendent of AROS-MAFAR-Lanao del Sur in which he discussed about Basic Skills in Gardening.
“About 1.7 million (2.8%) of death worldwide is attributable to low fruit and vegetable consumption”, Magarang highlighted
“Eating vegetable can reduce the risk of hypertension, stroke, Diabetes and many types of cancers”, he added
Part also of the program was to provide vegetable seeds and gardening tools and promote locally-produced foods and its importance in our body – the nutrition and health benefits they can give.
MAFAR-Lanao del Sur through Amer Magarang MS.RED is also committed to assisting and monitoring the actual implementation of their acquired gardening skills.
