MP Latiph Turns Over Results of Public Consultation with ALIVE/ISAL teachers to Minister Iqbal
On February 25, 2021, MP Maisara C. Dandamun-Latiph turned over the documents pertaining to the public consultation with ALIVE/ISAL teachers held by her Office on January 28, 2021 to Minister Mohagher Iqbal of the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE).
The documents include the research brief based on the transcripts of the panel consultation, a position paper from her office recommending the hiring of more ALIVE/ISAL teachers per school per year level, and a list of ALIVE teacher applicants.
The public consultation with ALIVE/ISAL teachers held on January 28, 2021 is part of a series of public consultations to be organized by the Office of MP Atty. Maisara Latiph as part of its legislative function, and in order to ensure that participatory, inclusive, and responsive legislation is filed by MP Atty. Latiph.
The output of the whole day consultation was turned over to the MBHTE as the implementing agency. The brief also contains recommendations by the participants to the consultation.
The office aims to be the bridge between the people and the government so that their concerns can better be heard, in line with the office’s goal of empowering voices.
