March 16, 2021 – MP Atty. Maisara C. Dandamun-Latiph attended the Resumption of the 4th Committee Meeting of Social Services. MP Latiph is also the Chairperson of the Sub-Committee on Socio-Economic Development.
Pursuant to BTA Proposed Resolutions 230 and 231, authored by MP Latiph, on conducting an inquiry in aid of legislation into the alleged anomalies in the distribution of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) directed to the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), and the Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG), which were referred to the Sub-Committee on Socio-Economic Development, the mother committee agreed to conduct an investigation prioritizing the matter which was the subject of the proposed resolutions.
In relation to this, the Committee on Social Services amended the rules, approving the following amendment, “Inquiries in aid of legislation referred to the committee shall take precedence over all other measures”.
The Committee will conduct the inquiry the soonest for fact finding and resolution of the issues at hand the soonest.
