1. EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Family food packs relief distribution. MSSD has 100M allocated for Marawi, which comes in family food packs usually containing 1 sack of 25 kilos of rice provided to families with vulnerabilities.

Financial Assistance for IDPS from Marawi. The target is 16,000 beneficiaries provided with P5,000 each. This is especially allocated for those who come from the most affected areas.

Cash for work. It has 4,000 participants with the amount of 11M.

2. FAMILY AND COMMUNITY WELFARE PROGRAM

MSSD has allocated funds for educational assistance to children of disadvantaged families. This comes in the form of cash provided to elementary, high school and college students. The target for Marawi is around 1,860 students, and the total amount is P5.4M.

3. CHILDREN AND YOUTH WELFARE PROGRAM

MSSD highlighted two programs. One is the provision of Early Child Care & Development program packages to Child Development Centers; 5 of them will benefit from this program. We also have financial assistance for orphans. This comes in the form of cash P5k per month.For Marawi City, around 50 orphans will benefit from this financial assistance.

4. WOMEN’S WELFARE PROGRAM

MSSD has several activities.It has referral services particularly for women in especially difficult circumstances. MSSD will install the referral pathway infographics that will allow victims of gender-based violence to access services in the different agencies, as well as NGOs. It is also planning to conduct consultation and dialogue with Muslim Religious Leaders on various fatwas for families and women.

5. OLDER PERSONS AND PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (PWDs)

MSSD is providing assistive devices (wheelchairs, “saklay” and other similar devices that will assist PWDs). 98 PWDs in Marawi can avail of this assistance with the average budget of P5k each. MSSD also launching a new program that will allow PWDs to get a monthly stipend of 500 pesos per month, wherein 3,000 beneficiaries will come from Marawi City.

6. RECOVERY FROM COVID-19 MEASURES

MSSD realigned some of their programs, particularly those that they will not be able to implement, like training and other activities that require mass gatherings. It is putting up Bangsamoro “Sagip Kabuhayan” program which will allow MSSD to provide around P15k for each beneficiary. This amount will help them recover economically by providing them additional capital for their businesses. The physical target for Marawi is 1,298 beneficiaries. The total budget is 19,335,000.00.

7. NATIONALLY FUNDED PROGRAMS

There are nationally funded programs, which the Ministry implements. The Supplementary Feeding Program allows learners from Child Development Centers to avail of hot meals that should supplement their regular meals.  Around 1,815 children in Marawi will benefit from the program.
