Eid’ul Al-Adha Mubarak everyone and Hajj Mabrour to our pilgrims!
Once again the Feast of Sacrifice is upon us today. The mercy and blessings of Allah s.w.t. is with us all as we celebrate the end of Hajj and remember the story of our beloved prophet Ibrahim’s (A.S.) unconditional submission to the will of his creator to sacrifice his beloved son Ismael while also successfully resisting temptations.
A Muslim who sincerely submits to Allah is also obedient to the commandments of Allah and follows the way of our prophet Muhammad (s.a.w). It is this strength of heart, purity in faith, and willingness to sacrifice that Allah desires from us.
Eid’ul Adha also celebrates the end of Hajj, the five-day pilgrimage Muslims undertake to cleanse their souls of sins and to strengthen their sense of brotherhood, equality and unity before God as one Ummah or nation of believers.
We also share meat Qurban to our immediate family, relatives, friends, and the less fortunate. It represents our determination to give up part of our own wealth in order to strengthen family bonds, friendships and aid those in need. We acknowledge that Allah bestows all bounties, and we should open our hearts and share them with others.
This is a moment of celebration and reflection – a moment that brings families, friends and communities together around the world. Together let us celebrate this day and nurture the lesson of this sacred day as guidance in our journey on this earth so that we may earn our place in paradise, Insha Allah.
May Allah accept our sacrifices and forgive your sins. Have a blessed Eid Mubarak and also Hajj Mabrour to all our pilgrims!
