HIGHLIGHTS OF THE BTA PARLIAMENT SESSION NO. 79 ON OCTOBER 21, 2021 | Rabi ul Awal 14, 1443 AH

☑️There are 62 members of the Parliament responded to the call. 26 attended physically, and 36 attended via virtual zoom.

☑️The Plenary have tackled six (6) resolutions and one (1) bill.

☑️The following resolutions have been approved and adopted by the members of parliament:

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 542, entitled: RESOLUTION EXPRESSING DEEP APPRECIATION TO THE PHILIPPINE GOVERNMENT FOR PASSAGE OF THE R.A. 11054 AND PROCLAMATION NO. 1906 DECLARING THE WHOLE MONTH OF OCTOBER AS INDIGENOUS PEOPLES MONTH

MP Latiph’s proposed amendments were adopted by the principal author as follow: WHEREAS, the Ministry of Indigenous People’s Affairs as the lead agency for the welfare and protection of the rights of the Indigenous People in BARMM is hereby tasked to spearhead programs in celebration of the Indigenous People’s rights act under the Bangsamoro Organic Law.

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 543, entitled: RESOLUTION URGING THE PARLIAMENT TO EXPRESS HEARTFELT THANKS AND GRATITUDE TO HIS EXCELLENCY PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE ON HIS APPROVAL OF THE REPUBLIC ACT 11054 OR THE BANGSAMORO ORGANIC LAW AND SUBSEQUENTLY APPOINTING THE MEMBERS OF THE PARLIAMENT PARTICULARLY THE 39 FROM THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES (GRP) SIDE.

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 546, entitled: RESOLUTION EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY AND SINCERE CONDOLENCES OF THE BANGSAMORO PARLIAMENT ON THE DEATH OF DR. AHMAD “JUN” ENGRACIA ALONTO, JR., FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE MINDANAO STATE UNIVERSITY

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 552, entitled: A RESOLUTION URGING THE BANGSAMORO PARLIAMENT TO CONDUCT CONSULTATIONS WITH THE STAKEHOLDERS OF PETROLEUM DEPOTS LOCATED IN PARANG, MAGUINDANAO FOR LEGISLATIVE PURPOSES

☑️The following resolutions have been referred to the appropriate committees:

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 470, entitled: RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE PARLIAMENT TO CREATE THE COMMITTEE ON YOUTH, PHYSICAL EDUCATION, AND SPORTS DEVELOPMENT has been referred to the Committee on Rules.

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 544, entitled: A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE CULTURE BEARERS OF THE NON MORO INDIGENOUS PEOPLES (NMIPS) WITHIN BARMM AND FURTHER DIRECTING THE MINISTRY OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLES AFFAIR TO PROVIDE THE LIST THEREOF WITH CORRESPONDING EXPERTISE has been referred to the Committee on Indigenous Peoples’ Affair.

☑️ The following bill has been approved on the second reading and referred to the appropriate Committee:

▶️BTA-Parliament Bill No. 125, entitled: AN ACT CREATING MALUSO INFIRMARY HOSPITAL WITH (15 BED CAPACITY) IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MALUSO, PROVINCE OF BASILAN, DEFINING ITS SERVICE CAPACITY, ORGANIZATION, FUNCTIONS AND OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES has been referred to the Committee on Health and Committee on Finance, Budget and Management.

The Principal Author, MP Abdulmuhmin A. Mujahid delivered his Sponsorship Speech.
