The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board of the Davao Region (LTFRB -Davao) is preparing for the opening of the Davao – Marawi, and Marawi – Davao bus routes. It is expected to start this November.
According to LTFRB – Davao Director Nonito Llanos III, the construction of the specific route is currently being processed while awaiting the release of the memorandum circular in the coming weeks. The process of selecting the operator who will get the said route will also go through the process.
Llanos added that they called it a “friendship route” that will link Marawi and Davao better and is expected to open up more opportunities for Davao and Marawi businessmen.
If previously the trip was ten to twelve hours, in the new route it will be only five to six hours. From Davao, it will still pass through Maramag and Kalilangan in Bukidnon and will not be able to pass through Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, although in the Municipality of Amai Manabilang, Lanao del Sur to Marawi.
