October 05, 2021

With various partners from the initiatives of youth organizations in Lanao, the Office of MP Atty. Maisara Dandamun-Latiph was able to reach out to many children not just only in Lanao del Sur, but also outside the region.

One of the main advocacies of the Office is the protection of Orphan and the Children Sector with its vision that every Bangsamoro child fully exercises their right to achieve long-lasting change in their lives, and our office’s main undertakings is to promote and protect the rights of every child in the Bangsamoro.

On the first and Second quarter of this year, we reached one of the barangays in the Municipality of Tugaya, and Marawi City with one of our flagship programs the “Singa Ka Man Moriatao Project” with the theme, “Rebuilding a Healthy and Peaceful Marawi through building resilience in Children”. This was in partnership with Philippine Youth Leadership Program-Ranaw (PYLP Ranaw) that aims to address the effect of the Pandemic, as well as the Marawi Siege such as suffering, trauma, and hopelessness of the vulnerable

children such as the street kids, vendors, and orphans.

This project aims to bring smiles, laughter, and education to the children through series of activities and workshops on proper hygiene, basic life skills, and the importance of education as well as to encourage children’s responsibility and participation in their homes and community to develop resilience at an early age and learn to value their own culture.
