READ | URGENT HUMANITARIAN APPEAL

To the National Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) to direct LGUs to stop discriminating and excluding Bangsamoro residents outside the BARMM on their right to government assistance and relief.

It has come to our Office’ attention, upon numerous complaints received, that Bangsamoro residents outside BARMM are being discriminated and excluded from relief goods and Social Amelioration Program by certain LGUs because they are not residents therein.

Numerous concerned Bangsamoro residing in areas outside BARMM reported that certain Local Government Units in-charge of handling relief goods and issuing Social Amelioration Program (SAC) forms deliberately exclude Muslims.

Indeed, it is important to impart the essence of solidarity and cooperation coupled with compassion to successfully overcome COVID-19 health crisis. As we continue to fully support the Government actions towards overcoming this crisis, the Bangsamoro people hopes that the Government ensures that no Filipino is left behind in its implementation.

Our Office, hereby, URGENTLY APPEALS to the National Inter-Agency Task Force For Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to direct LGUS to stop discriminating and excluding Bangsamoro Residents outside BARMM on their right to government assistance and relief.

Respectfully submitted. 17 April 2020.
