📌READ | HIGHLIGHTS OF THE BTA PARLIAMENT SESSION NO. 70 ON SEPTEMBER 16, 2021 | Safar 8, 1443 AH

☑️Out of 79 members of the BTA Parliament, 55 members responded to the call. 14 attended physically, and 41 attended via virtual zoom.

☑️The Plenary have tackled five (5) resolutions and one (1) bill.

☑️The following resolutions have been approved and adopted by the members of parliament:

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 515, entitled: RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE BANGSAMORO TRANSITION AUTHORITY’S GRATITUDE TO HIS EXCELLENCY, PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE FOR APPOINTING JUSTICE JAPAR B. DIMAAMPAO AS AN ASSOCIATE JUSTICE OF THE SUPREME COURT OF THE PHILIPPINES

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 516, entitled: RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING JUSTICE JAPAR B. DIMAAMPAO AS THE FIRST MERANAO, AND THE SECOND BANGSAMORO TO BE APPOINTED AS AN ASSOCIATE JUSTICE OF THE SUPREME COURT OF THE PHILIPPINES

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 518, entitled: RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION AND PROFOUND GRATITUDE TO PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE FOR APPOINTING HONORABLE JAPAR B. DIMAAMPAO AS ASSOCIATE JUSTICE OF THE SUPREME COURT OF THE PHILIPPINES

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 519, entitled: RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO IMMEDIATELY CONVENE A BICAMERAL CONFERENCE COMMITTEE AND RECONCILE SENATE BILL NO. 2214 AND HOUSE BILL NO. 10121 TO EXPEDITE THE ENACTMENT OF A LAW RESETTING THE FIRST REGIONAL ELECTIONS IN THE BANGSAMORO AUTONOMOUS REGION IN MUSLIM MINDANAO TO 2025

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 520. entitled: RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND EXPRESSING UTMOST GRATITUDE TO THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FOR APPROVING ON THIRD AND FINAL READING THE HOUSE BILL NO. 10121, ENTITLED: AN ACT RESETTING THE FIRST REGULAR ELECTIONS IN THE BANGSAMORO AUTONOMOUS REGION IN MUSLIM MINDANAO (BARMM), AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTION 13, ARTICLE 16 OF REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11054, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE ORGANIC LAW FOR THE BANGSAMORO AUTONOMOUS REGION IN MUSLIM MINDANAO

MP Atty. Maisara C. Dandamun-Latiph, the Principal Author stressed out during the period of interpellation and debate that the essence of the resolution is that the House of Representative in answer to the call of the Bangsamoro people supported the clamour for extension in order to support the peace process. She added that, “together with other members of the Parliament, we are very happy that the House of Representative listen and answered our call, and in fact he did the call of the President when he certified as urgent this bill. And finally yesterday without much further ado they passed it in the 3rd and final reading. Much to our happiness that we see the light of day of that very much necessary legislative measure from the House of Representative. That’s why we are commending them for this purpose.”

☑️The following bill have been approved on the second reading:

▶️BTA-Parliament Bill No. 21, entitled: AN ACT CREATING THE BARTER TRADE CENTER IN THE BANGSAMORO AUTONOMOUS REGION IN MUSLIM MINDANAO (BARMM) AND PROVIDING ORGANIZATIONAL SETUP DEFINING ITS POWER AND FUNCTIONS AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

The principal author MP Modayao M. Sacar delivered his sponsorship speech. The bill has been referred to the Committee on Trade, Investment, and Tourism.

☑️The BTA session is adjourned until September 21, 2021.
