Minister for Interior and Local Government (MILG) Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo confirmed that the official transfer of supervision of Cotabato City to Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) is set on December 15.
Sinarimbo, also BARMM’s spokesperson, announced via Radyo Bangsamoro on Saturday that on October 19, President Rodrigo Duterte has finally decided to transfer the supervision of the City to BARMM.“Nagdecide si pangulo na sundin ang pinagkasunduan last year sa Malacañang na iturn-over ang supervision over the city of Cotabato to the BARMM,” he said.
Sinarimbo noted that the transfer of supervision was decided during meeting of the IGRB on Friday. The IGRB is mechanism mandated to coordinate and resolve issues on intergovernmental relations between the National government and Bangsamoro government.
“Ang operationalization niyan ay iyong opisina ng DILG, that supervises Local Government Units (LGU), ay ililipat na sa MILG. Ang kasunduan ay i-turnover ang opisina ng DILG dito sa Cotabato City sa MILG, including its programs, properties, and assets,” Sinarimbo explained.
“Ang mangyayari ay may seremonya na ibibigay nila ang opisina nila, ipupull-out nila iyong mga tao nila, papalitan ng mga tao namin sa MILG, para sila ang mag undertake sa supervision over Cotabato City,” he added.
