With 55 members of the Parliament present both physically and virtually, the Bangsamoro Transition Authority approved three resolutions in today’s regular session.

Resolutions appealing to President Rodrigo Duterte to allow the incumbent BTA members who were nominated by the government to continue their service and commending the Notre Dame University for obtaining an autonomous status given by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) were among the measures adopted.

Through the adopted resolution, the BTA also expressed profound sympathy and sincere condolences on the death of Tausug historian Dr. Samuel Kong Tan and recognized his legacy in the field of history and in documenting the history of the Bangsamoro and Mindanao.

Two proposed measures were also introduced in the first reading, including the bill providing compensation to public and private healthcare workers and the bill ensuring diversity, equity, and inclusivity in public service. (LTAIS-Public Information, Publication, and Media Relations Division)
