The Office of MP Atty. Maisara Dandamun-Latiph joined the Virtual In-House Training on Effective Communication and Business Writing organized by OIC Head, HRD Unit, Sandra A. Salidatan.

The online activity aims to enhance and develop effective communication in the operations of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority by equipping its staffs with basic tools that will make sure that intended messages are successfully delivered, received and understood.

Resource persons asked the participants to define Effective Communication and jointly determined Barriers of Communication. They also discussed the House Rules as well as the Basic Elements of Communication Process.

It was followed by showing series of videos which depicted miscommunication. Participants identified the barriers as well as the means of avoiding them with the help of the facilitators.

Phrases which are considered “danger” were discussed as well as those considered “power” – words which should substitute the dangers.

“Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of encouragement, or destructively using words of despair. Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate, and to humble.” – Yehuda Berg
