The National Housing Authority (NHA) through its Marawi Project Management Office (MPMO) is set to render free engineering and architectural design assistance for homeowners of the city’s most affected area (MAA) in line with the upcoming observance of Marawi Week of Peace on May 17 to 23 this year.
Jamaloding Baute, Community Support Services Assistant of the NHA-MPMO, shared in the recent episode of Mashuara sa Radyo Pilipinas of DXSO that NHA will have its own booth at the Provincial Capitol Gymnasium amid the anticipated celebration wherein at least four engineering and architectural designs will be presented to IDPs in which they can choose their preferred design.
“Ang focus po natin is ang free design kasi nasa stage po tayo ngayon sa ground zero ng Kathagombalay which is kasali po ang NHA. As our GM’s commitment, walang kahit isang IDP ang hindi pwedeng mag-apply. Kailangan lahat ma-cater para sa ating architectural design dahil sa pagkakaalam natin, mahal po ang pagpapadesign,” he said as he reminded the listeners of the Kathagombalay, the processing of applications to secure permits and clearances for repair and construction of structures in MAA.
[Our focus is free design because we are in a stage of the Kathagombalay for ground zero in which NHA is part. As our GM’s commitment, no IDP will not have the chance to apply. Everyone must be catered in our architectural design because as we know, [house] designing is expensive.]
Baute also stressed that part of the inclusion of the assistance package is the cost estimate and technical plans.
He further reiterated that engineering and architectural designs are requisite for Kathagombalay and that as per documented basis, the Task Force Bangon Marawi shall only allow homeowners to construct or repair their property in MAA if they successfully secure their own necessary permits.
The NHA-MPMO also announced that there will be no posted schedule per barangay for the availing of the said assistance and anyone may opt to come and seek consultation given they are MAA residents. With this, engineering and architectural services will be on a first-come, first-serve basis and requirements must be hand-carried by each applicant.
The requirements include a land title which may appear as the original certificate of title or transfer certificate of title, deed of sale or deed of donation, tax declaration, barangay certificate, sketch plan, and social cartography.
Meanwhile, Baute emphasized that after the Marawi Week of Peace celebration, design assistance is still expected to carry on for the benefit of other remaining IDPs.
