☑️The proponents presented Committee Report No. 31 by the Committee on Rules endorsing Bill No. 24, entitled: AN ACT ADOPTING AN OFFICIAL LOGO FOR THE PARLIAMENT OF THE BANGSAMORO AUTONOMOUS REGION IN MUSLIM MINDANAO.

☑️MP Atty. Maisara Dandamun-Latiph is one of the authors of Bill No. 24, along with MP Eddie M. Alih, MP Mudjib C. Abu, MP Midpantao M. Midtimbang, MP Sahie S. Udjah, MP Adzfar H. Usman, MP Muslimin A. Jakilan, MP Abdulmuhmin A. Mujahid, and MP Abdul R. Sahrin.

☑️During the period of interpellation some MPs raised questions as to how the colors in the logo or seal shall be defined, whether the technical descriptions of the colors of brown and grey shall be used. MP Ali Sangki raised an inquiry regarding the star in the logo. The Bangsamoro Logo currently has a seven-pointed star which represents the five provinces and two cities. He asked what if we have other LGUs joining the Bangsamoro in the future, whether this change would be reflected in the star in the logo.

☑️During the period of amendments, MP Romeo Saliga proposed that the year 2019 be included in the logo. MP Don Loong suggested that the colors as defined in the Bangsamoro flag should be the ones used to describe the colors in the seal. He also suggested another option, which is to specifically state the color codes.

☑️The proponents accepted all of the standing amendments. Deputy Speaker Sema moved to approve the proposed seal on second reading. All of the MPs present physically and via zoom voted ‘aye’ approving the seal, with no ‘nays’.

☑️During the nominal voting, MP Maisara Latiph as one of the authors of the bill explained her vote. Some MPs also explained their ‘yes’ votes including MP Loong, MP Lorena, MP Mawalil, and MP Ramos, among others.

☑️During the session, MPs Atty. Nabil Tan, Zia Alonto Adiong, and Atty. Paisalin Tago were nominated and elected as Deputy Majority Floor Leaders. In addition, MP Baintan Ampatuan was elected as Deputy Minority Floor Leader.
