STATEMENT ON THE BRUTAL KILLING OF CHAIRMAN ABUBACAR SHARIEF

On June 17, 2020 at around 11 in the evening, Barangay Chairman Abubacar “Abu” Sharief of Barangay 384, Zone 39, District 3, Quiapo Manila was mercilessly and brutally killed by several gunmen outside his Barangay Hall.

Chairman Abu as his constituents call him is a well-loved public servant in Quiapo, Manila who actively implemented several programs of the government particularly during this Covid-19 pandemic. He is approachable and down to earth Barangay Chairman who tirelessly worked for the welfare of his constituents. We are saddened by his sudden loss and demand that justice be delivered swiftly. Our community will not feel safe until his perpetrators are brought to justice

We appeal to law enforcement agencies and to the authorities to investigate and bring justice to the death of Chairman Abubacar Sharief so that peace and security of our community will be strengthened.
