July 19, 2022

A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE DELEGATES OF THE PHILIPPINES IN THE RECENT 31ST SEA GAMES IN HANOI, VIETNAM, THE PHILIPPINE SPORTS COMMISSION (PSC), AND THE TWO HUNDRED TWENTY-SEVEN (227) SUCCESSFUL MEDALISTS INCLUDING A BANGSAMORO PRIDE, MR. ALNAKRAN “RAN” ABDILLA

This resolution aims to applaud the resiliency, excellence, and sportsmanship shown by the delegates of the Philippines in the recent 31st SEA Games held in Hanoi, Vietnam; the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC); and the two hundred twenty-seven (227) successful medalists, including Bangsamoro pride, Mr. Alnakran “Ran” Abdilla.

The Southeast Asian Games is a multi-sport event held every two years and attended by athletes from the eleven (11) countries of Southeast Asia. It was established with the intention of fostering better relations among the countries of peninsular Southeast Asia and enhancing the performance of member nations in the larger Olympics and Asian Games by competing against opponents of comparable caliber.

The delegates were preparing and training despite the limitations and health risks posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, thereby demonstrating their discipline, patriotism, and dedication to represent the country in the international arena.

One of them is the Province of Tawi-Tawi’s pride, Mr. Alnakran “Ran” Abdilla, who garnered a bronze medal in the Beach Volleyball for Men in the 31st Southeast Asian Games.

While we celebrate the accomplishments of our national athletes, we would also like to acknowledge the unwavering support of all the coaches and the Philippine Sports Commission in guiding these athletes through rigorous training to their medal victories.

As a consequence, the Philippine delegation brought honor and pride to the nation and served as an inspiration for the younger generation to participate in sports that promote self-discipline, teamwork, and excellence.

By passing this resolution, we hope to encourage our Bangsamoro Youth to engage in sports and other physical activities. This will teach them distinct values, keep them away from other unlawful acts, and at the same time, uphold the country’s distinction as being among the most competitive athletes in the global community.
