MAY 31, 2022| The Bangsamoro Transition Authority’s Committee on Trade, Investment, and Tourism (CTIT) began the first of a series of public consultations for the five planned policies in Tawi-Tawi to gather recommendations and feedback from diverse stakeholders.

The public consultation was organized by Marjanie Macasalong, a member of Parliament and CTIT chair, in collaboration with the principal writers of the five proposed bills.

The CTIT began today’s meeting by debating BTA Bills 85 and 21, which seek to institutionalize the barter trade in the region, promote its growth and development, and establish a regional barter trade center, respectively.

Academics, provincial directors of BARMM agencies in Tawi-Tawi, local government units, Tawi-Tawi cooperatives, and small commercial businesses all provided feedback, recommendations, and legislative input on the suggested measures.
