May 5, 2022 | The Office of MP Atty. Maisara Dandamun – Latiph attended the 5th session of Focused Group Discussion (FGD) entitled “Session 5: Strengthening Fiscal Management and Relations through IGR in the BARMM”.
This event is conducted by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), in partnership with the Forum of Federations.
The Forum of Federations is an international organization based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It develops and shares comparative expertise on the practice of federal and decentralized governance through a global network. The Forum and its partners comprise a global network on federalism.
During the said event, participants were able to discuss and share their substantial experience, most especially from international resource speakers and practitioners – Dr. Sandra Leon, Director of the Carlos III University in Spain; Prof. Jaap De Visser, Director of Dullah Omar Institute for Constitutional Law, Governance and Human Rights in South Africa; and, Dr. Shireen De Visser Former Senior Manager of Governance and Strategy of Stellenbosch Municipality and a Member of the Research and Ethics Committee of the Fiscal and Financial Commission in South Africa.
Furthermore, the program aims to help develop and achieve decentralized and inclusive governance practices focused on the coordination of powers delineated and shared between the National and BARMM government, through a series of dialogues and engagements with the BARMM including the concerned stakeholders.
