Every March is designated as National Women’s Month.
This year’s theme is “We Make Change Work for Women,” strives to emphasize women’s empowerment as active contributors to and claimholders of development. The commitment to “Malasakit at Pagbabago,” or True Compassion and Real Change, is also at the heart of this development effort.
Proclamation No. 227 series of 1998 declares March to be Women’s Role in History Month, while Republic Act 6949 series of 1990 defines March 8 to be International Women’s Day every year.
