January 30 – February 02, 2022 | The Office of MP Atty. Maisara C. Dandamun-Latiph through it’s Women Sectoral Representative and GAD Focal Person, Ms. Hassana H. Malic attended and participated during the Bangsamoro Women-Ranao Planning and Consultation Workshop conducted by United Nation Development Program (UNDP) in partnership with Bangsamoro Women Commission and Raheemah Peace Weavers at N Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
The UNDP convened women leaders and women insider mediators of Lanao del Sur to assess and to discuss how to move forward with their initiatives, to establish a partnership and expand the Women Insiders Mediators- Rapid Action Mobilization Platform (WIM-RAMP) in Lanao del Sur, and to identify areas for collaboration and support.
The organizing of WIM-RAMP in Lanao del Sur provided a venue for women peacebuilders and
mediators in Lanao del Sur to connect with one another to discuss initiatives and recommendations on conflict prevention, peacebuilding and community resilience building, identified areas for collaboration and support for women insider mediators, organizations and communities towards strengthening capacities for conflict prevention and resolution in their communities, and explored capacities and resources needed to establish a core group for the WIM-RAMP in Lanao del Sur.
The objective of the workshop, which aims to:
• Identify strategic programs, activities, and strategies through a consultative process among
Bangsamoro women of Ranao for 2022-2025;
• Come up with the Bangsamoro Women – Ranao Workplan for 2022 that will incorporate priority
programs identified during WIM-RAMP Lanao workshop; and
• Establish coordination and collaboration mechanism among women stakeholders in Lanao.
During the Planning and Consultation Workshop, Problems, issues, and concerns was raised and it was clearly identified that one of the best ways forward is the need to strengthening the different agencies and offices through active engagement with relevant women organizations and clarity of programs and services.
In attendance were different agencies, organizations, women leaders, and women mediators of Lanao del Sur.
