HIGHLIGHTS OF THE BTA PARLIAMENT SESSION NO. 75 ON OCTOBER 12, 2021 | Rabi ul Awal 6, 1443 AH

☑️There were 17 members of the Parliament who attended physically, and 41 attended via virtual zoom. 58 members responded to the call both physical and virtually.

☑️The Plenary have tackled seven (7) resolutions and two (2) bills.

☑️The following resolutions have been approved and adopted by the members of parliament:

▶️Proposed Resolution 536, entitled: RESOLUTION RESPECTFULLY APPEALING TO HIS EXCELLENCY PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE TO ALLOW THE INCUMBENT MEMBERS OF THE BANGSAMORO TRANSITION AUTHORITY (BTA) TO CONTINUE THEIR SERVICE UNTIL 2025 BY GIVING PRIMARY CONSIDERATION IN THEIR APPOINTMENT.

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 527, entitled: A RESOLUTION CALLING AND URGING THE BANGSAMORO COMMISSION FOR THE PRESERVATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE TO PROMOTE, PROTECT, AND PRESERVE THE WOODEN BOAT MAKING TRADITION IN THE BANGSAMORO TO POSSIBLY DEVELOP OR ESTABLISH A SCHOOL OF LIVING TRADITION FOR BOAT MAKING THEREIN.

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 529, entitled: A RESOLUTION URGING THE DIFFERENT MINISTRIES, OFFICES, AND OFFICE OF THE MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT OF THE BANGSAMORO GOVERNMENT TO ADOPT GOVERNMENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (GIP) IN THEIR REGULAR PROGRAM AND ALLOCATE FUNDS FOR THE 25% OF THE GOVERNMENT COUNTERPART.

☑️The following resolutions are referred to the appropriate committees:

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 528, entitled: A RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE, FISHERIES, AND AGRARIAN REFORM (MAFAR) TO APPRISE THE PARLIAMENT ON THE STATUS OF THE COCONUT INDUSTRY IN THE REGION AND OUR COMPLIANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBER 11524, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE “COCONUT FARMERS AND INDUSTRY TRUST FUND ACT” has been referred to the Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform.

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 530, entitled: A RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE, FISHERIES, AND AGRARIAN REFORM TO MODIFY THE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS IN ITS PROCUREM MOTORIZED BANCA FROM FIBERGLAS BOATS TO WOODEN HULLED BOATS AND EXPEDITE THE PROCUREMENT AND FULL IMPLEMENTATION OF THEIR MOTORIZED BOAT DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM has been referred to the Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform.

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 531, entitled: A RESOLUTION URGING THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DAY (GOTD) THROUGH THE MINISTRY OF BASIC, HIGHER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION (MBHTE) AND THE MINISTRY OF PUBLIC WORKS (MPW) TO CONSTRUCT ADDITIONAL COVERED COURTS OR OPEN STRUCTURES TO BE USED AS ALTERNATIVE SPACE FOR STUDENTS AND PUPILS DURING THE PANDEMIC, INSTEAD OF REGULAR SCHOOL BUILDINGS has been referred to the Committee on Basic, Higher, and Technical Education, and Committee on Public Works.

▶️Proposed Resolution No. 532, entitled: A RESOLUTION REQUIRING THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH (MOH) TO PRESENT TO THE PARLIAMENT AN OVERALL PLAN ON THE ESTABLISHMENT AND UPGRADING OF HOSPITALS, PROVIDING ITS INDICATIVE BUDGET REQUIREMENTS, IN ORDER TO AID LEGISLATION has been referred to the Committee on Health.

☑️The following bill have been approved on the first reading:

▶️BTA-Parliament Bill No. 133, entitled: AN ACT ESTABLISHING A LEVEL 1 GENERAL HOSPITAL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TABUAN-LASA, PROVINCE OF BASILAN AND APPRORIATING FUNDS THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

▶️BTA-Parliament Bill No. 138, entitled: AN ACT ESTABLISHING A MUNICIPAL HOSPITAL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF HJI. MUHAMMAD AJUL PROVINCE OF BASILAN AND APPRORIATING FUNDS THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
