In today’s regular session, the Bangsamoro Parliament approved three resolutions and introduced two bills seeking to establish hospitals in Basilan on the first reading.
A resolution urging different ministries and offices of the Bangsamoro Government to adopt the Government Internship Program (GIP) as their regular program and allocate 25% as their counterpart to provide opportunities and engage young workers to serve in government agencies was among the legislative measures approved.
The Parliament also urged the Bangsamoro Commission for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage to promote, preserve, and protect the boat-making tradition in the region.
They also appeal to President Rodrigo Duterte to provide primary consideration in the appointment of incumbent members of Parliament, allowing them to continue their service until 2025.
Meanwhile, four Parliamentary Committees were activated, including Ways and Means, Blue Ribbon, Ethics and Privileges, and Amendments, with the following chairs:
Committee on Ways and Means: Deputy Majority Leader Atty. Paisalin Tago;
Committee on Blue Ribbon: Majority Floor Leader Atty. Lanang Ali Jr.;
Committee on Ethics and Privileges: Deputy Speaker Atty. Omar Sema; and
Committee on Amendments, Revision, and Codification of Laws: Atty. Jose Lorena.
