August 24, 2021

August 24, 2021 | MP Atty. Maisara Dandamun-Latiph was invited by the Committee on Health to deliberate upon her two (2) resolutions duly referred to the said committee, to wit:

1. PR No. 324, entitled: “DIRECTING THE COMMITTEE ON HEALTH TO CONDUCT AN INQUIRY, IN AID OF LEGISLATION, IN THE ALARMING INCREASE OF COVID-19 CASES AMONG FRONTLINERS AT THE DATU HALUN SAKILAN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL (DHSMH) WITH THE END VIEW OF CRAFTING IMMEDIATE AND LONG-TERM MEASURES TO PREVENT OR MITIGATE THE OCCURRENCE OF SIMILAR INCIDENTS”

2. PR No. 287, entitled: “RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A LANAO DEL SUR PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL AS PART OF THE BARMM REGIONAL COVID-19 RESPONSE”

Both resolutions have been duly approved by the Committee on Health. As to PR No. 324, the Committee on Health has scheduled on the month of September the conduct of an inquiry in aid of legislation in Tawi-Tawi. MP Eddie Alih discussed extensively the necessity of the inquiry which was seconded by the members of the committee in order to prevent or mitigate the occurrence of an alarming increase of COVID-19 cases among frontliners. On the other hand, PR No. 287 has been duly adopted to express the sentiment of the Parliament for the immediate need in establishing a provincial hospital in Lanao del Sur. A committee hearing has been scheduled in order to discuss and consolidate all legislation and concerns pertaining to the establishment of the provincial hospital.

PR No. 319, entitled: “RESOLUTION ENSURING INCLUSIVE ACCESS TO EDUCATION DURING STATE OF HEALTH EMERGENCY BY ADOPTING AND IMPLEMENTING RADIO-BASED INSTRUCTION ACCESSIBLE THROUGH RADIO BROADCAST AND SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS”, to which MP Maisara is a co-author was also approved after she made representation asking Deputy Minister Zul Abas regarding the efforts of the Ministry of Health in implementing radio-based instructions.

Public hearings for Bill Nos. 90, 89, 51, 92, and 111 have also been scheduled in September.
