JUNE 20, 2022| Six senior high school students from Ranao Council-Al-Kwarizmi International College successfully completed 80 hours of work immersion from the office of MP Atty. Maisara C. Dandamun-Latiph. This is under the Advocay and Policy Development (APDeT) program.

These students are graduates taking up the Humanities and Social Sciences strand.

The Office of MP Maisara is extending services to support the youth and education sectors. The staff has developed Advocacy and Policy Development Training (APDeT), a program for the senior high students to appreciate the work of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) and recognize vulnerable sectors.

The APDeT Program aims to train the students in advocacy work for the vulnerable sectors supported by the office of MP Maisara and provide technical skills to the senior high students for them to think critically and act creatively in response to the identified issues and concerns from the vulnerable sectors. Finally, the program’s goal is to introduce the Bangsamoro Transition Authority’s (BTA) work in the parliamentary government of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

This program is one of the opportunities for the senior high students to be engaged in fieldwork and office work. Senior high students from the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand are allowed to participate in the APDeT program for meaningful participation. Thus, their learning and insights from the APDeT Program will be applied in their course, Community Engagement, Solidarity and Citizenship (CESC), their voluntary work, and tertiary studies.

During the culmination program, Each trainee shared their insights, experiences, and learnings among others.

In a statement, the OJT Supervisor, Ms. Sohaila Ampaso, mentioned that they are thankful for the office for the opportunities and learnings that they had shared in their students.
