With 57 members of the Bangsamoro Parliament, both physically and virtually present in today’s session, two resolutions were approved, and five bills were introduced on the first reading.
The Bangsamoro Parliament expressed “profound sympathy and sincere condolences” on the death of Matanog Mayor Mohammad-Ali Guro.
They also recognized the late human rights lawyer Atty. Jose Luis Martin Gascon’s role in the review of the 1996 Final Peace Agreement with the Moro National Liberation Front, the establishment of the Islamic Cooperation’s Peace Committee in the Southern Philippines, and peace negotiations with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front during the signing of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro in 2014.
Meanwhile, creating hospitals, enhancing the Regional Transitional Justice and Reconciliation Program, providing for the documentation of human rights violations, establishing the Bangsamoro Health Care Subsidy Program, and providing benefits for Mujahideen and Mujahidat were among the bills introduced on the first reading.
