42 Disaster Officers from MAA attended Training on Disaster Preparedness

July 28, 2021| The office of Member of the Parliament, Atty. Maisara C. Dandamun-Latiph in partnership with the Ministry of Interior and Local Government represented by Marawi City Director, Masbud Gaima II, conducted Disaster Preparedness. This was held at Institute of Peace Development in Mindanao Convergence Hall, Mindanao State University (MSU-IPDM), Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.

This activity is in line with the National Disaster Consciousness Month celebrated every July of the year. This is also in preparation for the safe and dignified return of the Internally Displaced Persons in the war-torn Marawi City this October 2021.

This program aimed to provide First Aid Training for the Disaster Officers from the 24 Barangays in Most Affected Area during the 2017 Marawi Siege.

This training also involved presentations and demonstrations on Proper Bandaging and Carrying and Basic Life Support which was exhaustively discussed by the HOPE Healthcare Institute President, Zenaida S. Naga, RN, EMT together with other officers.

Questions were raised by the participants, highlighting the emergency situations that occurs in their community.

The exchange of conversation between the participants, trainors, and officers was one of the highlights of the event.

Part of the program was the provision of First Aid Kits and Safety Vests to the participants. This will useful for their preparation in the Kabalingan.

Minimum safety and health protocols were observed during the conduct of the said activity.
