August 02, 2021 | MP Atty. Maisara C. Dandamun-Latiph attended the 2nd meeting set by the HCA Pathways on Validation Presentation for the Governance and Organizational Capacity Study on Strong MBHTE.
Its objectives are to generate baseline information on the capacity of MBHTE and more specifically to:
a. Generate evidence on critical factors, systems, and processes to operationalize a unified education system;
b. Determine how much was been contributed by education stakeholders to make the unified system work; and
c. Generate knowledge on the approaches and recommendations for improving the design of education management towards a unified system
MP Latiph suggested many points that enriched the discussion and some are the following:
1. There should be systematic purposive activities as well as a program that can address that conceptual gap.
2. Educate the stakeholders especially the providers on the Education Code to know what is the impact of the Code and what are the deliverables of every teacher.
3. Kailangang himay-himayin kung ano ang tinatahak ng MBHTE kung bakit nag bago na ang Education System. We need to have Education on Cultural Change, the change of management.
4. Decentralize decision-making on the curriculum adaptation.
5. Decentralize the appointment process to make it more progressive. SDS must have their indigenous way of hiring since they know teachers on the ground.
The Office of MP Latiph fully supports Education as one of her main advocacy to have a better Educational System in the Bangsamoro Region.
Indeed, it was a very productive meeting to start the month of August. We thank the pathways for recognizing our efforts.
